| While
the Potthouse will be one of Belfast most exciting
new venues when it opens later this year, it will already
hold more mystique than some of the cities oldest and
most reputable establishments. For the Potthouse, along
with the accompanying Soap Bar and Sugar Room, is steeped
in history, being located on the site of the Belfast’s
first pottery, which lends its name to the new bar.
The original Potthouse opened in 1697 and was in operation
until 1725.
Based on the 17th century Potthouse and associated housing
and industry of this historic area of Belfast the new
bar on Waring Street is a modern version of the Irish
pub. more>> |
