While the Potthouse will be one of Belfast most exciting new venues when it opens later this year, it will already hold more mystique than some of the cities oldest and most reputable establishments. For the Potthouse, along with the accompanying Soap Bar and Sugar Room, is steeped in history, being located on the site of the Belfast’s first pottery, which lends its name to the new bar. The original Potthouse opened in 1697 and was in operation until 1725.
